To write a successful blog post, you often need a lot of creativity and inspiration not only in the search for ideas, but also when copywriting. But there are great apps and tools for bloggers available that make this easier for you.

Here are our favourite tools and apps that will make you a well-organised blogger in no time!

Organisation is Everything

The first step to writing a good post is to research, research, research. Gathering as much information on what you want to talk about is crucial. But with so much information available, where do you start?

Getting inspiration from other bloggers can be a great launchpad for your own posts. Try using Feedly to keep up with what your favourite bloggers and publications have been talking about. With Feedly you can save your favourite blogs, magazines or YouTube channels and check them anytime on your computer or on your smartphone.

So you have some ideas for a post but haven’t had the time to refine them? There are plenty of tools you can use to store your ideas and first drafts in one place and access them anytime. Wunderlist app is great for bloggers that want to create lists, set deadlines, make notes and comment on the go. If inspiration strikes while out and about, this app will automatically sync on all of your devices and you can invite friends and colleagues to join tasks too.

Even better, if you are using WordPress as a blog platform, you can install an editorial calendar widget in your dashboard. This helps you to plan your posts, have an overview of what you have scheduled and make changes.

Tools for Creation, SEO and Image Processing

Do you often work with other bloggers? Then Google Drive is indispensable for you. You can easily create the content for your blog online and share it with others. In addition, Google Docs allows you to work on a document with multiple people at the same time, and to discuss things in the app using the comment option.

If you are ready to publish your content, Yoast is an amazing SEO tool. It gives you tips for improving the important SEO elements, such as keyword density or word count. As we know, SEO is crucial to making sure your blog reaches the widest audience via Google and other search engines. the only downside is that Yoast is only available for WordPress blogs. Once you’ve finished writing the content for your post, adding eye-catching photos are the next most important thing. There are so many really useful apps that you can use to edit images. VSCO or Lightroom for Instagram are our favourite photo editing apps. if you haven’t had the time to take a photo yourself, using stock photos is a great option. You can find different royalty-free pictures on platforms like Unsplash.

The last thing to do before you publish is to check your spelling and grammar! Grammarly and Wiktionary make this easier for you, but you can always get a friend to read it too.

And Finally: Publishing and Social Media

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest… the list goes on. To keep track of social media channels, you can use social media management tools like Hootsuite or Buffer. Not only do they let you schedule your tweets in advance, you can also use their analytics tools to understand the best times to post and which posts performed the best.

Once you’ve published, finding new channels to distribute your content on is a great way to expand the reach of your blog. For this, many bloggers love bloglovin. The platform is free, you can share your content easily, and you can get inspiration from other bloggers too. If you’re willing to part with some money, you might also want to look into Outbrain to help you reach more people.

Once you have a good amount of content on your blog and a solid number of visitors each month, you should start thinking about sending out a newsletter. Mailchimp is one of the best platforms for this. Free if your subscription number does not exceed 2,000, you can create attractive newsletters using its simple interface and track how many people readers you get.
